Geestelijke zondag/ Spiritual Sunday

Het hele weekend zijn we in het Bisschoppelijke Gymnasium geweest. De jongens vonden dit zo mooi dat ze er even foto's van hebben gemaakt. Maar het ging niet om het gebouw, maar om wat we als Leger verder willen. we moeten wakker worden, opstaan en gaan! Gaan om te zorgen dat we als kerk groeien! De kinderen werd dit ook geleerd en hebben daar ook over gezongen.

The whole weekend we have been at the Bishops Gymnasium in Kromeriz. The boys thought it was a great building and took some pictures of the ceiling. But it was not about the building. We have been looking at where we stand at Army and that if we want to grow we need to wake up, get up and go into the world to preach the gospel. As Army we want to grow, but we need to take action. The kids also learned about this and sung a song as well.

Kromeriz heeft een echt palies, met een mooie paleistuin. Dit was slechts een paar minuutjes van de plek waar we onze weekendje uit hadden, dus konden we daar gaan kijken (en Matous foto's maken).

Ook moeten er af en toe wat gekke bekken getrokken worden!

Kromeriz has a nice palace, with a great garden (park). This was just around the corner from where we were staying, so we have been there, so that Matous could take some pictures.

And of course some funny faces are obligatory!

Even in Kromeriz/ Afternoon in Kromeriz

Tijdens ons Leger des Heils weekend hadden we zaterdagmiddag vrij en konden we de stad in gaan. Tom wijst de weg en we vonden een standbeeld van Masaryk (Vader van de Republiek), verder hebben de jongens steentjes gezocht en werd er ook nog wat gerust!.

During the Salvation Army spiritual weekend, was the Saturday afternoon free, so we could visit the town of Kromeriz. Tom is showing the way and we found the Father of the Republic (Masaryk). The boys have been looking for little stones and there was some rest needed as well.

De kok/ Cooking

Tom wordt een echte kok (niet met c-o-ck), maar een die lekker wil helpen in de keuken (en ook proeven). Hier is Tom het beslag voor muffins aan het maken en ze zijn heel lekker geworden.

Tom is becoming a real cook. He loves to help in the kitchen, most of the tasting bit. Here you can see, Tom preparing for muffins. Those muffins were great.

Tom speelt buiten/ Tom is playing outside

Tom geniet van de extra aandacht (Mat is op trip) en doet nog gekker dan anders. Hij wil ook langere armen en misschien lukt dat ook wel met lang hangen.

Tom is enjoying the extra attention (with Mat away) and is doing funnier things than normally. He is also trying to get longer arms, and maybe that will work with a new record on hanging for a long time.

Mat op trip/ Mat going on trip

Mat zou vorig jaar al op kamp met school geweest zijn, maar dat is toen vanwege storm afgelast. Dit jaar dus herkansing and op maandag ochtend was het verzamelen, foto's maken en op pad!

Mat should have been on trip last year, but this was cancelled because of bad weather (stormy and thunder). This year there was the second change and on Monday morning it was coming together, taking pictures and go!

Borden schilderen/ Painting plates

Ons servies (wat er van over is) is al een tijdje aan vervanging toe. Christa heeft nog steeds niets geschikts kunnen vinden, dus is ze op het idee gekomen de jongens er maar iets van te laten maken!

Our plates (or what is left from it) are in need of replacing, but up to now, Christa has not found anything suitable. Therefor she came with the idea to let the boys create something nice.

Groot vuur/ Big fire

Alles was klaar in onze gebedsruimte voor de Engelse huisgroep, toen een papier vlam vatte en er een brandje ontstond. Gelukkig was Christa er snel bij en is er niets ernstigs gebeurd. Veel rook, stank, maar geen persoonlijk ongelukken.

All was ready for the English speaking fellowship when a paper got fire and there started a small fire. Fortunately Christa reacted quickly, which prevented big problems. A lot of smoke and smell, but fortunately no personal accidents.

Puzzelen/ Making puzzles

Puzzelen is niet alleen maar een ontspannen hobby, voor Matous is het ook een grote wedstrijd om eerder klaar te zijn dan Tomas. In het Leger hebben we wat puzzels binnen gekregen en die hebben we getest op compleet zijn, maar helaas bij alle drie miste er 1 stukje.

Making puzzles is not just a relaxing hobby, for Matous it is also a competition to finish earlier than Tomas. In the Army we have gotten some puzzles and we decided to see if they were all complete. unfortunately all three puzzles were missing one piece.

Midgetgolf/ Crazy golf

Het was vandaag erg warm (32 graden) dus zijn lekker naar het meer geweest, waar we heerlijk in de schaduw een spelletje midgetgolf hebben gespeeld. Het was een nieuwe ervaring voor de jongens en ze hebben erg hun best gedaan (Mat was de winnaar met de minste slagen).

It was very warm today (32 degrees), so we have been at the lake, where we have played mini/crazy golf (nicely in the shade!). This was a new experience for the boys and they have tried to do their best (Mat was the winner with the least number of hits).
